Ngramology: Commands and Absolutes

There seems to have been an increase in use of commands coincident with the decrease in discussion of feminism. One might suppose it to be the mark of a more masculine style, if one were so inclined.

Perhaps this trend bears some relation with an increase in belief in absolutes:

So much for the triumph of postmodernism.
